Although we didn't work closely together, I distinctly remember Jason from nearly 10 years ago when we both contributed to a large, challenging and rather stressful IT project.  He stood out from the crowd (as he does in the memory) by being really genuine, kind, good-humoured and well-balanced (things which are harder to maintain, but which matter all the more, during difficult times).  It is desperately sad to hear the news of his premature death.  He was very well respected and liked.  I recall that those he directly managed really liked working both with and for him.  There always seemed to be a twinkle in his eyes.
